 My name is Sherry Truitt and my design studio is located in New Jersey, although I hail from the deep south. I live with my husband and son in a Craftsman bungalow in a small town that still dials 411 for information and has no cable TV. Our Jack Russell terrier rules the house.

Anything but conventional jewelry + objects is a fluid collection of hand crafted work. A distinct aesthetic is formed by the juxtaposition of disparate elements to create pieces to wear and use in your home. I mix everyday working objects, spirit levels and compasses as well as vintage maps with sterling silver, steel and aluminum to create the pieces found in the store. I work with reclaimed sterling and aluminum and a new soy based resin as I endeavor to leave a lighter footprint on the planet. I embrace the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, the beauty of imperfection. It’s what makes each hand crafted piece different from the next.
 

  My map jewelry is worn the world over, to capture the memories of adventures and explorations; by brides and grooms as well as couples that have adopted from a faraway place and couples who are celebrating milestone anniversaries.

My shop proudly supports Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). MSF is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971. MSF’s work is based on the humanitarian principles of medical ethics and impartiality. The organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation.
